Troubleshooting of Rotation Failure of Scraper Motor of Road Paver Machine

During the actual working condition assessment test of a running track paver machine, the user found that the scraper could not stop after the rubber paving machine had been operating for 260 hours. Even if the scraper switch on the main console is turned off and the electromagnet plug of the scraper hydraulic system is unplugged, the scraper motor can still rotate. Let's study this issue below.

1. Composition And Working Principle Of Plastic Running Track Paver Machine

It is understood that the plastic running track paver machine scraper system adopts a new structure and layout, which is mainly composed of hydraulic oil tank, scraper pump, electromagnetic relief valve group, scraper motor, hydraulic oil filter, etc., as shown in the attached picture . The scraper pump adopts P R R-022/022L gear pump, and the scraper motor model is OMTS315. The model of the electromagnetic relief valve group is 98301113DWG/03, which consists of 2 normally open type cartridge relief valves and 1 two-position two-way solenoid valve, among which the cartridge relief valve model is SV4-8-O-0 -24DGS. 2 cartridge relief valves are used to control the left scraper and the right scraper respectively. When the electromagnet Y26 is not powered, the pressure oil pumped by the hydraulic pump returns to the hydraulic oil tank; when the electromagnet Y26 is powered on, the pressure oil passage of the return oil tank is cut off, and the scraper motor of the rubber paving machine works.

2. Troubleshooting of Rubber Paving Machine

Check the electrical system of the rubber paving machine and found nothing abnormal. Check that the hydraulic oil is clean and free of contamination, and the temperature of the hydraulic oil is within the normal range. Check that the hydraulic oil pipeline is unobstructed and the hydraulic oil radiator works normally. Dismantling and inspecting the electromagnetic relief valve group, it is found that the valve core is normal, there is no impurities, the spring pressure is also normal, and the valve core switch is flexible. Replace the new electromagnetic relief valve assembly on site, and the fault has not been eliminated, which can rule out the possibility of the electromagnetic relief valve being faulty.

After communicating with the user, it was learned that the road paver machine was in normal use, and the scraper rotation failure occurred only after 260 hours of operation. In the initial stage, only one side of the scraper motor rotates, and the hopper will rotate only when there is very little material in the hopper, and then it will gradually develop into the two sides of the scraper motor will rotate, and the material will also rotate. Judging from this, when the electromagnet Y26 is energized, some of the pressure oil may still return to the oil tank through the motor, causing the motor to rotate.

In order to further verify the judgment, connect a pressure gauge to the oil inlet of the scraper motor, and test the pressure at 0.4MPa, which indicates that some pressure oil does flow through the scraper motor. With the approval of the technical department, a check valve with an opening pressure of 0.5MPa was installed on the oil outlet pipeline of the scraper motor, and the failure of the paver disappeared. Through the nearly 800h assessment test, the fault did not appear again.

3. Analysis Of The Failure Cause Of The Road Paver Machine

Analysis believes that when the electromagnet Y26 is powered off, the pressure oil pumped by the scraper pump should all flow back to the hydraulic oil tank through the electromagnetic relief valve group. The opening of the electromagnetic relief valve matches the displacement of the scraper pump. It may be that the opening of the electromagnetic relief valve group valve is too small, causing residual oil pressure to pass through the scraper motor when the electromagnet Y26 is powered off.

In the initial use of the new road paver machine, the mechanical transmission components of the paver scraper system are new parts, which are in the running-in period, the mechanical resistance is large, and the residual oil pressure cannot drive the scraper motor to run. With the prolongation of use time, the scraper drive device is constantly running in, and the mechanical resistance it receives gradually decreases and tends to be stable. When the mechanical resistance of the scraper system is reduced to a certain extent, the scraper motor starts to rotate. The above analysis is consistent with the fact that in actual work, the material will start to rotate when the material is small, and then the material will rotate when the material is large.

A check valve with opening pressure is installed on the oil outlet pipeline of the scraper motor, which eliminates the influence of residual oil pressure on the motor, thereby eliminating the fault of the road paver machine.
